Abstract

This article discusses the warning against apostasy and emphasizes the importance of spiritual maturity in strengthening faith and resisting the temptation of sin. The modern church is faced with a similar challenge as the church written in Hebrews, namely the temptation to abandon the faith for various reasons such as persecution, theological confusion, or the temptation of sin. This warning also affirms God's just and holy character, which will provide a just punishment for those who deliberately abandon the faith. The modern church is called to persevere in their faith, not tempted to abandon the faith despite the pressures or difficulties they face. A stern warning about the dangers of abandoning faith after knowing the truth, an analogy about the soil absorbing rain, producing beneficial or prickly plants, indicating a choice between salvation or destruction. The church is invited to avoid the temptation of apostasy by deepening their relationship with God and living according to His teachings
