Abstract
This article aims to ethically and theologically examine the role of special ministers towards individuals with mental disorders in the GMIM Getsemani Lansot Church. In this context, an ethical-theological approach is used to understand how special ministers engage with and assist individuals with mental disorders, according to the moral principles and spiritual values that underlie religious teachings. The study employs a qualitative method. The research findings indicate that the role of special ministers towards individuals with mental disorders in the GMIM Getsemani Lansot Church is crucial and diverse. They not only provide emotional and spiritual support but also offer guidance and practical services according to individual needs. The study also identifies several challenges in the role of special ministers, including societal stigma towards mental disorders, lack of knowledge about individuals with mental disorders, and limited available resources. Therefore, it is recommended to continue developing a holistic and integrated approach in the ministry towards individuals with mental disorders, involving every component within the church ministry, mental health institutions, and relevant stakeholders.
