ARUI EKLEV: Journal of Community Engagement and Social Transformation is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal published by the Faculty of Theology, Universitas Kristen Indonesia Tomohon, Indonesia. The journal provides an academic platform for advancing community engagement at the intersection of theology and Christian education, with particular emphasis on how theological knowledge, educational practices, and faith-based initiatives engage real-world challenges and contribute to meaningful social transformation.

ARUI EKLEV prioritizes evidence-based and contextually grounded scholarship that moves beyond descriptive reports of community service. It publishes studies demonstrating critical engagement with community needs, participatory and collaborative approaches, measurable or identifiable outcomes, and sustainable forms of transformation. The journal welcomes community-based research, participatory action research, service-learning, community empowerment, and other innovative forms of engagement that connect theological and Christian educational scholarship with the lived realities of churches, schools, families, and wider communities.

The name ARUI EKLEV embodies the journal's distinctive identity. Arui, rooted in the Minahasan cultural context, expresses peace and joy, while Eklev is conceptually formed from the Greek ek (“out/from”) and the Hebrew lev (“heart”). Together, ARUI EKLEV conveys the philosophical idea of “peace from the heart”—reflecting a scholarly commitment in which knowledge moves beyond academic boundaries to engage communities, nurture human flourishing, and foster transformative change.
