Abstract

The purpose of this article is to examine and analyze the duties and responsibilities of special ministers (pastors, elders, deacons, and religious educators) within the GMIM regarding the lives of the congregation. By employing a qualitative approach through a literature review focused on the theological theme of evangelistic mission as it relates to church life, this study explores key aspects concerning the duties of special ministers within the GMIM. The research findings and discussion concluded that the theology of evangelistic mission is the work of God, for God, and for the glory of God. The mission of evangelism must be an integral part of the ministry of special ministers. Special ministers must be equipped through a process of foundational Christian faith education and the courage to proclaim the Gospel to the nations. In this way, special ministers do not remain stagnant in ministry limited to fulfilling congregational programs but actively engage in God’s mission—proclaiming the work of salvation that comes only through Jesus Christ.
